Cutscenes


To enable a flow of gameplay from the combat and movement to talking with the NPCs after quests, or to blend between world transitions, we added a fade mechanic. The screen will fade to black, and then fade back in at a later point. This is to allow for seamless transitions rather than harsh camera transitions. 

Cutscenes were revamped in the hub world to now move the camera to the NPC, fade between them, and allow for multiple cutscenes to be played sequentially. Before, all cutscenes happened at the same time. This allows the player to complete as many quests as they want, and be able to collect the rewards from all of them upon returning to the hub world and have the player feel accomplished for completing the quests.
